Located a mere forty miles North of New Orleans, Picayune, MS provides a wealth of activity to keep you entertained. Keep reading to find out some of our favorite music venues in and around the largest city in Pearl River County.

1. 100 Men Hall

If you’re a jazz fan, we urge you to pay a visit to the 100 Men Hall. The building dates back all the way to 1922 and has hosted musical greats from James Brown to Ray Charles. It’s also a landmark location on the Mississippi Blues trail; a must-see for any music buff!

2. Darwell’s Cafe

Darwell’s offers a welcoming atmosphere to both strangers and locals alike. They offer a casual dining menu, and although they don’t have a drinks menu, customers more than welcome to bring their own bottle of wine to enjoy alongside the live tunes. We’d like to remind you to take note of the local drinking laws; alcohol should only be consumed by adults of legal drinking age.

3. Ruby’s Roadhouse

Sometimes a smoky music venue can turn a person off going out. Ruby’s Roadhouse has you covered with their smoke-free policy every Friday and Saturday night. They celebrated 36 years in 2020, and are a vital part of the community; hosting neighborhood events such as blood drives and yard sales as well as their regular music gigs.

4. The Landing

Located right on the river, The Landing offers indoor and outdoor seating and a great cocktail menu. This place is a firm favorite with locals and fills up quick, so ring ahead to avoid disappointment. This bar is for adults aged 21 and over.

5. The Parrot Head Bar and Grill

If seafood is your jam then so is The Parrot Head! They have an awesome seafood menu, along with weekly music gigs and daily food and cocktail specials.

6. Brass Monkey

Want somewhere where you can listen to music but also want to be able hear what is being said to you from across the table? Fear not, the Brass Monkey is the place for you. With options to sit either indoors or outdoors, you’re bound to have a great time here.

7. Dew Drop Jazz and Social Hall

This is another must for any jazz fan’s bucket list. Stepping into the Dew Drop is like stepping into a different era. This place is a must-see for both music and history lovers alike.

8. Mutt and BC’s Bar and Grill

Looking for a fun place to hang out over a few beers? Mutt and BC’s host regular live music nights, as well as weekly karaoke nights. Always remember to drink responsibly and elect a designated driver to get you home safely on those late nights.
